Languishing…

Raven….

Cold, dark,

Picture-perfect Raven…

Accustomed to rhythms,

Dull aches…

Throbbing,

Seeking,

Charred to perfection…

Raven…

Weathered one too many storms,

Withered, broken,

Resilient-hopeful Raven…

Ah, but Tempest!

You’re different now…

And still the same…

Ripping, searing, burning flames…

There were once kisses made of fire…

And now…

quiet storms of silence,

Mark your “forever” place…

The air is heavy love,

And words, conspicuous in their absence,

But I hear of old promises…

I hear of ancient screams…

And I know these aren’t just dreams…

There is no waking up…

Only numbness…

Dark, cold, familiar…

but I still live…

Without the warmth of your words..

languishing…

In icy-waters of this feigned ignorance…

I live…

Aware…

That you chose fear,

Building castles from my blood and tears…
